Choanoflagellate Colony Pendant
This pendant depicts a "rosette" colony of choanoflagellates, remarkable little organisms which are thought to be the nearest unicellular relatives to the ancestor of all animals! A billion years ago (or thereabouts), colonies such as this began to grow, and their cells began to specialize, eventually becoming muscles, nerves, and the other tissues that would form themselves into fish, snails, insects, and the myriad other critters of the great animal kingdom!
