Gnome Mug
"I hand throw each mug on the potter's wheel from a ball of porcelaneous stoneware clay. Once it has dried to leather hard, I then trim a foot ring, add a handle and apply my signature stamp on the bottom. Depending on the weather it takes about 5 days for most of the water to evaporate out of these mugs. At this stage it is greenware. It is then placed into the kiln for 16 hours and 30 minutes for a 1,888 degrees F. bisque firing. The bisqueware stage is where I can then wipe each bisqued pot with a damp sponge, let it air dry, and then apply the glaze. The bowls go back into the kiln for their final glaze firing up to 2,167 degrees F. for roughly 8 hours and 36 minutes depending on the weather. Each piece I create is handled personally by me in my studio. These mugs evoke a functional beauty from my home to yours. Please enjoy on a daily basis. They are mid-range porcelaneous stoneware. Food-safe glaze, suitable for food storage and serving, dishwasher, and microwave safe. I recommend avoiding extreme temperature changes. From rim to handle these mugs are roughly 4 3/4" in diameter and about 3 1/2" tall. Each one comfortably holds about 10-12 oz. of your choice of beverage"
